The Book of Jasher

The Book of Jasher and Holy Bible

The Book of Jasher (also, Jashar) or the Book of the Upright or the Book of the Just Man

This is one of the apochrypal Books of Jasher. There are several (as many as five) separate works by this title, all composed much later than Biblical times. This particular one is a translation of a Hebrew book printed in 1613. Sepir Ha Yasher, the Hebrew title of this book, means the 'Book of the Upright', or 'the Upright or Correct Record'. This title was misread as 'Jasher', and at some point Jasher was treated as a proper name; however the pronoun 'the' (hebrew 'ha') never preceeds proper names.

This text covers much of the same ground as the traditional Mosaic books of the Bible, from the creation of the world to the death of Moses, albeit with several minor variations.

Questo è uno dei libri apochrypal di Giusto. Ci sono diversi (fino a cinque) separa opere di questo titolo, tutti composti molto più tardi rispetto tempi biblici. Questa in particolare è una traduzione di un libro ebraico stampato nel 1613. Ha Sepir Yasher, il titolo di questo libro in ebraico, significa il 'Libro del Montante', o 'il Montante o corretta Record'. Questo titolo è stato frainteso come 'Giusto', e ad un certo punto Giusto è stato trattato come un nome proprio; tuttavia il pronome 'la' (in ebraico 'ha') mai precede i nomi propri.

Questo testo copre gran parte dello stesso terreno come i tradizionali libri di Mosè della Bibbia, dalla creazione del mondo fino alla morte di Mosè, anche se con diverse variazioni minori.
